FUNDRAISE
Our greatest need is always fundraising so that we may continue to grow our work and fund new social projects benefiting women. There are numerous ways groups may get involved in sponsoring a project or conducting a fundraising event to help engage their community in supporting our programs.
Take the example of Cherokee Elementary School in Scottsdale, Arizona. An initiative led by parent and activist Jami Schulman has engaged students, teachers and the broader community in learning about water issues in Rwanda. The school designed their own water bottles which they then sold to raise money, which has helped launch the Have a Good Life water project in Rwanda.
For more fundraising ideas, such as how to host an African dinner party, or a screening of The Devil Came on Horseback, go to our site for Change Agents.
RAISE AWARENESS
Global Grassroots feels it is critically important to help break down the disconnect that often exists between those living in the West and the underserved women we support in Africa. One way to help people feel more connected is to host an awareness raising event or form a circle in your community that will make a commitment to personal and societal transformation. In addition to all the ideas contained in the Change Agents section of our site, consider inviting Global Grassroots founder, Gretchen Wallace, to host a workshop or speak at your event.
