Who We Are

Global Grassroots is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2004 that supports conscious social change for women in post-conflict societies.

Our work is guided by the core value that deepening personal consciousness and contributing towards the common good are both essential to establishing a mindful society that will advance the greatest level of positive social change. We call this "Conscious Social Change."

We also believe one of the most effective levers of social change is a woman who has the capability, resources, power, courage and inner commitment to initiate positive change for herself and others.

Global Grassroots' Conscious Change Academy helps vulnerable women reclaim their lives and rediscover their value to society through the development of their own ideas for social change. We catalyze and accelerate the process of personal and societal transformation through four primary strategies:

	Delivering a holistic, interactive and educational program to support the self-actualization of conscious change agents. The training portion of the Academy integrates (a) healing and personal growth work, (b) tools for deepening consciousness and ethical leadership, and (c) the social venture skills necessary to implement a sustainable social venture;
	Providing project development support, seed grants and ongoing high-engagement consulting to launch the sustainable solutions designed by our graduates to address priority issues facing women;
	Building a global network of conscious social change agents and the support structures necessary to accelerate their work and spread best practices;
	Investing in creative communications mechanisms to raise awareness of critical issues facing women worldwide, especially trauma and sexual and gender-based violence during conflict.

Our goal is to catalyze at the grassroots level worldwide the development of conscious communities of change agents working independently, collectively and systemically to advance women's rights and well-being.
